Program Manager Job Description

Tiercon Corp. is a leading automotive supplier seeking a skilled Program Manager to join our team at our Stoney Creek facility. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining programs from inception to production, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage programs from customer business award to successful production sign-off of launch
  • Assemble and lead APQP teams to ensure launch is completed on time, on budget, and meets customer and Tiercon requirements
  • Supervise project and design engineers' activities related to your program
  • Provide DFM/DFA best practices and feasibility improvements to customers
  • Coordinate and ensure preparation of prototype/production sample submissions
  • Coordinate and ensure through quality resources that all required dimensional, appearance, and laboratory data is properly submitted on a timely basis
  • Coordinate and ensure production readiness through engineering resources on the team for facility changes, equipment installations, and packaging
  • Participate in design and readiness reviews with customers and support assembly plants during build events and launch
  • Manage sub-suppliers during launch with the help of purchasing and quality
  • Manage tooling suppliers, including costing, tool designs, builds, trials, and production sign-off
  • Support programs through engineering changes after launch
  • Prepare cost reduction proposals
  • Review programs for continuous improvement
  • Root cause all verbal and written customer concerns during launch
  • Participate in costing of new programs
  • Provide supplier performance information to the purchasing group
  • Visit customer and supplier locations
Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree or diploma
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in computer systems (MS Office, Project, Windows, Macros, and database)
  • 5 years of program management and 5 years of engineering experience in an automotive environment
  • Experience with injection molding, painting, and assembly is a must
  • Experience with GD&T, ADVP&R, principles of APQP, injection mold tooling
  • Experience with automotive exterior plastic, such as bumper assemblies, fascias, top caps, and rockers, is a must
  • Experience with launching GM, Toyota, or Chrysler programs is a must
  • Must have and maintain a valid passport and be able to travel to the US and internationally
  • Regular travel is required to customer, sub-supplier, and tooling supplier locations
  • Injection molding tool design and launch experience, JIT sequencing, and new product cost estimating are considered strong assets
