We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at The Village at University Gates in Waterloo, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have existing Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Deliver safe administration of medication and treatments with a focus on accuracy, quality, and meeting our residents' quality of life requests.
- Follow plans of care (or service plans) in accordance with the standards of the College of Nurses and identify and report any changes in the resident's well-being to the Charge Nurse or Village leadership team.
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and deliver the highest quality of personal care to our residents.
- Work as a key member of our Village and Neighbourhood multidisciplinary team to understand residents' individual needs and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their care.
- Proven alignment with our organizational vision, mission, and values of Caring relationships, Persistent and passionate, Positive, Can-do attitude, Creative and innovative, Hardworking and hands-on, Genuine and humble.
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the Long-Term Care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OSHA) of Ontario.
- Comfortable supporting residents and their families during end of life care.
- MDS credentials.
- Experience working with people living with Dementia.
- Knowledge of the palliative assessments scale.
