Alberta Inc. is seeking a skilled Apiary Technician to join our team.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Apiary Technician to work in our apiary operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring animal health, harvesting crops, feeding and tending animals, operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment, and detecting disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry.
Responsibilities- Monitor animal health and detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
- Harvest crops and feed and tend animals
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Detect bee diseases and treat bees with antibiotics
- Manage apiary operations and harvest, extract, and package honey and beeswax
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in apiary operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The successful candidate will be required to work outdoors in a rural area, with exposure to hot, noisy, and wet/damp environments. The work site environment will be physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
