Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Helium Production Specialist to become an integral part of our operations team. This role involves overseeing the safe and effective management of a helium processing and distribution facility. The Senior Helium Production Specialist will be expected to demonstrate expertise in operational procedures to meet critical performance indicators, including safety, output, quality, and ongoing enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize personal safety and environmental stewardship in all activities.
  • Ensure the safe handling of hazardous materials, including liquid and gaseous helium.
  • Execute assigned tasks with minimal supervision in varying weather conditions.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately, including work orders and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and safe facility through diligent housekeeping practices and regular equipment inspections.
  • Fill helium bulk containers in accordance with quality management system standards.
  • Operate yard tractors as required.
  • Engage in training programs and safety meetings to comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Review and adhere to procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the startup, shutdown, and operation of various equipment, including compressors and purification systems.
  • Conduct product quality sampling and testing, along with routine equipment calibration.
  • Interpret P&ID and PID process controls effectively.
  • Troubleshoot process disruptions and control valve issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial plant setting is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Operations, Distribution, or Quality Control is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Hazardous Work Permits and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management is preferred.
  • Background in quality management with a focus on process control and continuous improvement, ideally within an ISO framework.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Rotating on-call responsibilities may be required.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Physical requirements include regular standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
