Food Safety Quality Assurance Team Supervisor

The Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Team Supervisor at Maple Leaf Foods plays a crucial role in managing the food safety initiatives at our facility. This position entails overseeing the implementation of food safety protocols through comprehensive task assessments, verification processes, and continuous monitoring efforts. The supervisor will guide interdisciplinary teams during audit processes and formulate corrective action strategies for any identified compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor team members while ensuring adherence to quality and food safety standards.
  • Administer and enhance quality assurance and food safety programs.
  • Plan and assess staffing needs, including the onboarding of new personnel.
  • Facilitate training sessions and contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare for and participate in audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment for all staff.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred post-secondary education in Chemistry or Microbiology.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in FSQA.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety principles and GFSI/BRC standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
