Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies

The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Conduct Workplace Inspections

The Safety Officer will conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to mitigate risks.

Provide Training and Education

The Safety Officer will provide training and education to employees on safety procedures, protocols, and best practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Investigate Incidents

The Safety Officer will investigate incidents and near-miss incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Manage Safety Data and Reporting

The Safety Officer will maintain accurate and up-to-date safety data and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements
  • Education

A college diploma or CEGEP certificate in a related field such as occupational health and safety, risk management, or a related field.

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a similar industry.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure to meet safety and regulatory requirements.
