Mechanic - School Bus Repair Technician

Job Summary:
First Student Shared Services is seeking a skilled Licensed Mechanic to join our team. As a Licensed Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school buses by performing routine maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues, including brakes, engine tune-ups, and transmission problems.
- Lead preventative maintenance (PMs) and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal vehicle performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements:
- Valid Mechanic license and a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in maintenance management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
