Electrical Engineer Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at JTEKT Corporation's Technical Center in Halifax, NS. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for achieving excellence in electrical engineering for electromechanical products, including steering and driveline products for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Create test plans, procedures, and reports, and review and ensure test efficiency by validating in hardware.
  • Design and simulate circuits and PCBs, and have strong knowledge of design for EMC, EMI, and manufacturing.
  • Perform environmental, electrical, and EMC validation testing, and assist in root cause analysis for open customer support or other items as assigned.
  • Propose corrective actions for resolutions to manufacturing and quality problems due to processes or equipment.
  • Participate in production and/or project meetings, offering feedback and guidance.
  • Assist in generating engineering and production documentation, and conduct test procedures, problem reports, and give client feedback.
  • Maintain and protect corporate IP, systems, tools, data, and customer proprietary information.
  • Consistently follow and comply with defined processes and workflows.
  • Contribute design suggestions and ideas into the design process, and demonstrate competency in the use of lab tools and debug/analysis instruments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 5-7 years' experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.

Work Environment

This position requires a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and substantial time spent working on a computer. Travel by automobile and plane is required approximately 5-10% of the time.
