Job Title: Payroll Clerk

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll transactions, providing support services associated with financial and accounting processes, and maintaining databases for annual audits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process payroll and/or time-reporting data and associated forms in accordance with established policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
  • Prepare and process payroll data and answer inquiries from employees, supervisors, and pensioners.
  • Maintain and administer databases for ensuring proper documentation is readily available for annual audits.
  • Provide advice and assistance on matters related to payroll.
  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of new or revised payroll systems.
Requirements:
  • High School or equivalent, plus up to one year of study in a related field.
  • College diploma or certificate in Human Resources or Business Administration or Payroll designation is a desirable asset.
  • 1-3 years of payroll experience.
  • Experience working with SAP or ADP an asset.
  • HR Experience in Payroll/labor relations is an asset.
  • Accounting background experience is an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Change resilient in an agile work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes and navigate organization and support systems to deliver results to client groups.
  • Able to provide client-focused service in a high-volume environment.
