Position Overview

The role of a Self-Service Gas Station Cashier involves managing transactions at a fuel retail outlet, ensuring a smooth and efficient customer experience.

Education Requirements

No formal education such as a degree, certificate, or diploma is necessary for this position.

Work Environment

This position is set in a gas bar environment, where you will interact with customers and handle various transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the cash register effectively.
  • Process various forms of payment including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items for sale accurately.
  • Receive payments for goods and services provided.
  • Calculate and reconcile daily or shift payments with total sales.
  • Maintain stock levels and ensure the cleanliness of the counter area.
  • Welcome and assist customers with their inquiries.
  • Verify customer age for the sale of restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco.
Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with electronic cash registers.
  • Experience using Interac machines.
  • Ability to operate price scanners.
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory management systems.
Work Conditions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
