Job Title: Senior to Principal Coastal Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Coastal Engineer to join our team at BGC Engineering Inc. as a Senior to Principal Coastal Engineer. This role will involve leading business development initiatives, assisting in the development and execution of our coastal engineering strategy, and acting as a technical lead for specific aspects of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead business development initiatives and assist in the development and execution of our coastal engineering strategy.
  • Assist in the continued development of our coastal processes and morphology team.
  • Act as a project engineer and technical lead for specific aspects of our projects across all service sectors.
  • Author or co-author reports and act as a technical reviewer for work done by others.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise technical work of other staff.
  • Work with client and partner representatives.
  • Promote our company vision, values, and culture amongst our staff.
  • Travel as required, which could occasionally include extended shifts at remote work sites and visits to other offices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geological or Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Post-graduate degree in Coastal Engineering (or similar fields) preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant post-graduate work experience in consulting or industry.
  • Professional status required: P.Eng., PE., P.Geo.
  • Technical expertise in sophisticated numerical modeling, shoreline design, and field investigations.
  • Experience in projects in Canada or the United States is desired, exposure to projects in the arctic or Australia would be an additional asset.
  • Strong leadership, analytical and project management, and communication skills.
  • A commitment to innovation and technical excellence.
