Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Preparing Meat: Clean and trim meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet customer demands.
  • Meat Handling and Packaging: Wrap and package prepared meats, and weigh meats for sale to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Meat Preparation and Display: Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products, and shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood to meet customer expectations.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations to customers on meat products.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience in a butcher shop or retail environment is an asset.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a fast-paced butcher shop environment, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: The successful candidate will be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
