The Food Service Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our culinary services at PHILTHY PHILLY'S CHEESESTEAK AND POUTINERIE. This position requires a blend of leadership, organization, and culinary knowledge to maintain high standards of food quality and service.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program, or a non-university certificate or diploma lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 month and up to 7 months of relevant experience in food service.
- Develop and implement effective work schedules to optimize staff productivity.
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of food preparation and portioning staff.
- Provide training to staff on their job responsibilities, as well as sanitation and safety protocols.
- Calculate and forecast the necessary ingredients and supplies for meal preparation.
- Recruit and hire food service personnel.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards for food and service.
- Prepare financial budgets and cost estimates for operations.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, repairs, sales, and waste management.
- Compile and submit detailed reports as required.
- Prepare summaries of food orders for the chef.
- Possess knowledge of the culinary styles offered by the establishment.
- Supervise the assembly of food trays and the delivery of food trolleys.
- Establish and manage work schedules for the team.
Supervision of a team comprising 3 to 4 individuals.
Work Environment- Fast-paced and dynamic work setting.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
- Extended periods of standing, along with bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Physically demanding tasks.
- Strong client focus and dedication to service excellence.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- This is a permanent position.
- Work language is English.
- Standard working hours are 32.5 hours per week.
