About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager - Credit Strategy & Data Science to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Credit Strategy team, you will be responsible for leading the development of credit strategies to grow revenue and manage risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced analytics to inform lending decisions for credit programs
  • Optimize the profitability of our retail credit card portfolio by analyzing and designing credit strategies
  • Engage with senior management and Group Risk Management partners to refine and execute credit strategies
  • Support the implementation and ongoing integrity of credit strategies within our systems
  • Build financial models to simulate financial outcomes of strategy decisions and drive continuous improvement
  • Generate learnings to enhance credit strategies using data analysis and testing methodologies
  • Support the attraction, development, and establishment of a highly talented analytical credit team
  • Design and implement management systems to foster and develop a best-in-class credit analyst team
Requirements
  • 3+ years of progressive analytics experience, preferably in advanced risk analytics and strategy design for lending products
  • Expert problem-solving skills, including understanding of credit risk fundamentals and financial modeling
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel, SAS, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with modern analytical tools and technology stacks, including Python, GitHub, AWS, and HDFS
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Python and Tableau
  • Ability to develop effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders, credit bureaus, and remote teams
  • Ability to design and deliver compelling presentations to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality and accurate work with the ability to multitask and shift priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • People leadership experience leading a team of high-performing analysts
  • Experience with adaptive control software and credit scoring technologies
  • Equally effective and conversant in business and technical environments
