Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage woodlands budgets to ensure optimal returns in a challenging market.
- Source high-quality wood at competitive prices for our two NB Mills in Nackawic and Atholville.
- Maintain healthy wood inventories by species and form to meet our safety stocks policy.
- Collaborate with Unit Heads and Central Operations to reduce wood costs and improve fiber yield and quality.
- Negotiate wood contracts with market participants and the government to secure favorable terms.
- Understand the financial impact of woodlands decisions on the company's P&L.
- Build and maintain collaborative business networks within and outside AV Group.
- Lead a high-performing team of individuals and external contractors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry or Forestry Engineering.
- MBA considered a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Strong commercial skills.
