As a Commercial Property Underwriting Specialist at Wawanesa Insurance, you will work independently to evaluate the acceptability of intricate and high-value business proposals in alignment with company standards. Your role will involve collaborating closely with our sales team to deliver exceptional expertise and service to both prospective and current policyholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments utilizing advanced technology and external data sources to facilitate quoting, negotiating, and authorizing risk acceptance.
- Assess eligibility for policy renewals in accordance with company guidelines and retention objectives.
- Maintain precise records of decisions made and ensure the completeness of policy data.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance policies, processes, regulations, and audits.
- Engage in periodic work reviews to uphold quality assurance standards.
- Support the development and execution of business transformations.
- Encourage a positive team environment and provide effective short-term direction towards achieving team objectives.
- Build and nurture positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including networking at industry events.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of five years of experience in the Property and Casualty insurance sector.
- A completed or actively pursued Property and Casualty Industry Designation.
- Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
