This encompasses hospitals, private clinics, long-term care facilities, and more. Our Healthcare management team collaborates with employees to identify a position and worksite that aligns with their lifestyles.
This role operates on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, alternating between day and night shifts (2 nights and 2 days).
On-Call Security Guards receive a guaranteed base rate during all on-call hours. This rate increases to the site-specific rate when called in for shifts, which occurs nearly every day. Employees may need to travel more than 50 kilometers one-way from their base location, with travel expenses covered.
Working in Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally demanding. Security Professionals are tasked with providing support, empathy, customer service, and public safety to healthcare staff, visitors, clients, and patients alike. The dynamic environments in which our Security Professionals operate can be both rewarding and challenging. Our top-tier Healthcare management team offers 24-hour support for our employees, focusing on proactively reducing risks and responding to incidents with real-time guidance.
A typical day for a Healthcare Security Officer:
While your specific duties may vary based on your worksite, you can anticipate performing the following tasks in this position:
Ensure access control in and out of the facility, as well as within restricted areas. Monitor and respond to incidents identified on the property, including through surveillance cameras. Conduct facility patrols, checking for risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances/exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and general security violations. Respond to alarms and emergency assistance calls. Investigate and document any irregularities encountered during your duties. Monitor patient safety, documenting and reporting incidents as necessary.
