Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 annually
Position Overview:
The Facilities Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role within the branch leadership team, focusing on maintaining exceptional service standards. This position is dedicated to ensuring that the facility is consistently clean and well-kept, thereby enhancing the overall member experience. The supervisor will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive cleaning strategy and a proactive maintenance program, which includes asset refurbishment and facility improvement projects. This role reports directly to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Facility Services team to maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment.
- Supervise a diverse team of full-time and part-time cleaning staff and volunteers, overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks, managing both internal and external trades for repairs and upkeep of equipment and building systems.
- Work alongside the General Manager to ensure effective management of the branch's physical assets, focusing on equipment reliability, safety, and compliance.
- Assist in creating, implementing, and monitoring preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring all documentation is maintained accurately.
- Manage departmental budgets and contribute to annual capital and expense budget planning.
- Procure necessary supplies and materials, processing payments for goods and services.
- Foster positive relationships with members, staff, volunteers, contractors, and suppliers, serving as a role model.
- Participate in front-line duties and serve as Manager on Duty as needed.
- Oversee pool and spa operations, ensuring compliance and maintenance standards are met.
- Implement YMCA SAM standards throughout the facility (training provided).
- Co-Chair the branch Health & Safety committee.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent delivery of services in alignment with organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Two years of post-secondary education, preferably leading to a Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) designation or equivalent, along with five years of relevant experience in building operations or trade certification in areas such as:
- Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry
- Mechanical & HVAC systems
- Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Pool operations (CPO/BPO certification required or obtainable)
- Health & Safety worker certification (required or obtainable)
- A minimum of three years of experience in building operations, maintenance, and cleaning procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching abilities.
- Three years of supervisory experience with budget management.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including email and word processing software.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR, with knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- A current Police Records Check will be required as a condition of employment.
