Quality Assurance Engineer Intern

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will enhance your current skills by showcasing essential abilities as a dedicated and diligent individual who excels in overcoming challenges in developing innovative and improving existing testing methodologies within our QA Division. Your projects will involve the formulation of manual GUI tests and the automation of GUI testing processes. Some testing tasks will require inventive strategies to identify swift and effective testing solutions, as well as determining the necessary environment and code-supported automation.
Key Qualifications:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
- Availability for an extended period.
- Prior experience in application development using Java or C++ during previous co-op terms is advantageous.
- Completion of coursework in networking and operating systems.
- Fundamental understanding of Linux/Unix systems.
- Capability to work independently while seeking clarification when necessary.
- Enthusiasm and aptitude for identifying and reporting software issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with JUnit and a grasp of Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience in Java web development utilizing servlet technology.
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
- Experience with multi-tiered or multi-threaded applications.
- Basic understanding of Ant, Eclipse, GIT, and databases.
Responsibilities:
As a QA Engineer, your duties will encompass:
- Collaborating with the team to ensure timely achievement of project milestones and deadlines.
- Assisting in ensuring projects are finalized with adequate automated and manual testing to reduce bugs.
- Creating and executing new test cases, whether manual or automated.
- Documenting test processes for product GUIs and maintaining a regression testing schedule.
- Evaluating test outcomes and providing constructive feedback.
- Performing additional related tasks as required to support the ongoing needs of the organization.
