Job Title: Telecommunications Line Technician

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Line Technician to join our team at Maple AV Inc. As a Telecommunications Line Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing aerial and underground telephone equipment, as well as testing equipment to locate transmission faults.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
  • Test equipment to locate transmission faults
  • Install trunking systems, circuits, and equipment
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause, and location of trouble
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
  • Splice, join, and connect wires
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Install underground wiring and cables
  • Diagnose and locate circuit, component, and equipment faults
  • Design and construct low-voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter installations
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to distinguish between colors
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking
  • Physically demanding
