Job Title: Senior Substation Planning Engineer

Raise is seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Substations Growth and Sustainment Department, you will be responsible for developing specialized expertise in the planning of transmission/distribution substations.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement long-term plans for major and complex new/existing substations.
  2. Conduct and analyze technical and economic planning studies related to the expansion of the electric system.
  3. Investigate, analyze, and solve complex engineering problems related to new and existing stations.
  4. Develop asset plans for maintenance and replacement of major equipment.
  5. Conduct load interconnection system impact studies and write reports.
  6. Impart engineering knowledge and encourage the professional development of junior engineers.
  7. Contribute to the overall development and implementation of Asset Management strategies and policies.
  8. Manage multiple projects, initiate studies, develop business cases, assess priorities and risks, and monitor work to ensure it meets applicable engineering standards and business requirements.
  9. Collaborate with various departments to develop optimized plans, implement substations projects, and support system operation.
  10. Make contributions to the yearly capital plan process, Integrated Resource Plans, and Revenue Requirements Application.

Requirements:

8 years of experience in a relevant field, ideally in an electricity utility. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Canadian Universities. Master's degree or higher in a relevant field is an asset. P. Eng and will be required to provide proof of permit to practice, registered with EGBC when hired. Well-developed verbal and written communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
