About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team at Lighthouse Shellfish Ltd. as a Shellfish Harvester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing Equipment: Clean, sanitize and dry aquaculture equipment before the next use to prevent the introduction of pathogens and disease.
  • Reporting and Record Keeping: Write daily basic progress reports to ensure accurate documentation of tasks and activities.
  • Stock Management: Transfer stock to tanks in trucks and pack stock in special containers to ensure efficient and safe handling.
  • Shellfish Harvesting: Dig shellfish from shellfish beds using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Quality Control: Clean, sort and pack shellfish to meet quality standards.
  • Stock Grading and Weighing: Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks to ensure accurate inventory management.
Work Environment
  • Work Site Environment: The role will involve working outdoors in a marine environment, which may include working in/on water and in wet/damp conditions.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: No degree, certificate or diploma is required, but the ability to learn and train on the job is essential.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Hours: The role is a permanent position, working 30 to 40 hours per week.
