About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all buildings and related materials, both interior and exterior, to an acceptable standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all buildings and related materials, both interior and exterior, to an acceptable standard.
  • Ensure that all power tools are in good and safe working condition.
  • Complete work orders assigned to the department with the least possible delay, especially where guest comfort is concerned.
  • Train and assist shift maintenance personnel to carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist other trades with tasks that require the expertise of a journeyman.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles.
Requirements
  • Provincial Journeyperson's certificate for Province of Alberta required or third or fourth year in the Apprentice program required.
  • High school and/or technical school education requirements to satisfy Trade School.
  • General knowledge or experience of the carpentry trade.
  • Meet the minimum expectations of the Heart of House Perceiver Interview.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Valid Alberta driver's license required.
