Job Title: Outreach Specialist

Join the City of Lethbridge's Community Services Department as an Outreach Specialist, working in partnership with the Lethbridge Police Service and the Watch Program. This 18-month term position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with the unhoused population through regular patrols and referrals from the Encampment Response Team.
  • Conduct assessments of individuals' needs and connect them with relevant services, including housing, health, and social support.
  • Develop professional relationships with community partners, including healthcare providers, schools, and community resource centers.
  • Advocate on behalf of participants to ensure their needs are met.
  • Document and report on case progress and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Two-year diploma or equivalent experience in social work, case management, or a related field.
  • Volunteer experience working with unhoused populations is an asset.
  • Proven track record in strategic social and/or health delivery case management.
  • Valid Alberta driver's license and vehicle insurance.
What We Offer:
  • $39.88 per hour (under review).
  • 75 hours bi-weekly, Monday to Friday.
