About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Sushi J. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of properly.
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Food Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as required for food preparation.
  • Work Term and Hours: This is a permanent position, with a variable number of hours per week (15-40 hours).
  • Language and Communication: English is the primary language used in the kitchen, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
