Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker 5 to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for performing trades duties approaching the journeyman level in various trades areas, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair duties related to buildings and equipment, and perform mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and systems.
- Participate on the Rapid Response Team and as a member of the Maintenance team.
- Assist other team members in their duties to ensure a timely and complete delivery of service to our clients.
- Act in various capacities, supporting maintenance in general terms.
- Act as a customer service advocate, accelerating the resolution of customer concerns.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Grade 10, plus four (4) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must have a valid BC Driver's license, unless specified in the posting.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
