Compensation Overview

  • Salary range of $100,000 to $125,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Role Summary

The Construction Estimator and Project Coordinator will oversee all facets of estimating and project management, including project initiation, permit acquisition, subcontractor coordination, and the preparation of tenders, budgets, estimates, and construction timelines. This role requires collaboration with both internal and external teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution while upholding design integrity and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate project initiation, permitting, and management processes.
  • Develop tender documents, budgets, estimates, and construction schedules.
  • Manage progress payments, invoicing, and documentation control.
  • Conduct trade contractor meetings, handle RFIs, and process invoices.
  • Promptly verify and manage change orders.
  • Address contractual issues in a timely manner.
  • Finalize agreements with subcontractors.
  • Supervise both internal and external contractors or trades.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for site superintendents and subcontractors.
  • Provide on-site construction guidance and oversight.
  • Coordinate project workforce needs with management.
  • Ensure the project team understands contract terms.
  • Maintain positive client relationships.
  • Oversee project activities, resources, scheduling, documentation, and budgeting.
  • Plan project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Establish tracking mechanisms for project progress and stakeholder reporting.
  • Conduct meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback and expectations.
  • Monitor project costs and secure additional funding as necessary.
  • Supervise third-party workers and manage billing.
  • Conduct project evaluations and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure construction aligns with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Authorize and approve all personnel transactions and requests related to the project.
  • Enforce company, client, and project policies and standards.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Construction, Engineering, Building Technology, Project Management, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal Certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of construction trades, civil techniques, welding, and steel fabrication.
  • Excellent management, delegation, planning, and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal workplace regulations.
  • Proven team player with strong team-building skills.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated history of customer interaction and satisfaction.
  • Results-oriented with effective time and priority management skills.
  • Knowledge of contract fundamentals and contractor management.
  • Successful experience in project delivery using project management methodologies.
  • Strong negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Capable of organizing and facilitating meetings and feedback sessions.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse staff levels.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication.

  • Valid driver's license required.
