Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the HR Manager and will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services to our workforce across Canada. This role encompasses a variety of HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding processes, employee relations, performance management, and adherence to provincial labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the HR Manager with daily employee relations matters, ensuring a high level of visibility and accessibility on the shop floor.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and management regarding employee relations, communication strategies, and compliance with current legislation.
- Manage leaves of absence and short-term/long-term disability cases, facilitating return-to-work plans in collaboration with site leadership.
- Contribute to corporate HR initiatives and projects, offering insights and support to enhance the overall HR function.
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of company policies and the Employee Handbook, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Investigate employee concerns and facilitate resolutions as needed.
- Support recruitment efforts for various positions, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
- Encourage effective communication among employees, supervisors, and management to promote a collaborative work environment.
- Assist managers in conducting performance evaluations and addressing employee and management concerns through thorough investigations.
- Prepare and analyze various HR reports as required.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant legislation, industry trends, and corporate policies.
- Ensure confidentiality of all HR-related information.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and customer service orientation within the organization.
- Manage training records and schedules, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Represent the HR department in interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe workplace.
- Be flexible and willing to work extended hours, including weekends, as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Human Resources Management.
- CHRP designation is considered an asset.
- A minimum of three years of experience in employee relations and compliance within a manufacturing environment.
