Key Responsibilities:

Lead the structural design team to ensure successful project delivery. Coordinate structural design and construction efforts with other engineering disciplines. Work onsite daily to liaise directly with clients and external stakeholders. Perform structural modeling, analysis, and design; prepare and review structural reports and drawings. Collaborate closely with BIM professionals to generate drawings. Review construction submissions, assess constructability, and evaluate staging drawings, schedules, and cost estimates. Coordinate engineering and commercial aspects with the construction team. Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure compliance with structural drawings and contract specifications, identifying potential structural deficiencies and suggesting remedial actions.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Over 10 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in industrial projects. Bilingual proficiency in French and English (both written and oral); capable of independently preparing reports and correspondence. Demonstrated experience in comprehensive project design, including analysis, detailing, and construction administration for complex industrial projects. In-depth knowledge of building codes, including NBCC, Quebec Construction Code, and CSA standards. Proficient in structural analysis software such as SAP, ETABS, SAFE, RAM-Structural, S-Concrete, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), as well as Acrobat/Bluebeam. Excellent communication skills; able to prepare reports and correspondence independently. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites for reviews. Ability to effectively engage with all levels of staff and clients, both internal and external.
