Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide comprehensive speech language pathology services to patients and families, ensuring optimal health outcomes in communication and dysphagia function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides speech language pathology services in accordance with CSHBC standards of practice and Fraser Health mission, values, and speech language pathology acute care standard.
  • Performs Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) procedures and provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develops and implements evidence-based intervention strategies to improve patient outcomes, including education and consultation with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborates with the interprofessional care team to ensure seamless quality patient care, including referrals to appropriate healthcare and community programs.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatment plans, and test results.
  • Participates in approved research, special projects, and quality improvement activities to enhance and optimize the delivery of care.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC).
  • CHSBC Certificate I: Videofluoroscopic Assessment & Management of Adult Swallowing Disorders.
  • Knowledge of speech language pathology theory and practice, CSHBC standards of practice, and practice guidelines for clinical practitioners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interprofessional care team.
