Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring goods and services to satisfy the manufacturing department's inventory needs, while minimizing shortages and costs. This role will involve expediting goods delivery, negotiating with vendors, and identifying new and alternative suppliers to meet the company's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure goods and services to meet the manufacturing department's inventory needs.
  • Reduce part costs while improving quality and delivery times.
  • Expedite goods delivery when necessary.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible terms.
  • Identify new and alternative suppliers to meet the company's requirements.
  • Execute on the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) plan for purchase orders.

Requirements and Skills:

  • University, college, or technical post-secondary education.
  • Degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in purchasing goods.
  • Experience with AX or D365 systems is an asset.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers.
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to develop recommendations and strategic solutions from data/information.
  • Well-organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to prioritize needs.
  • Team player.
