Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Corporate Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. As a trusted advisor, you'll provide strategic and practical legal support to our national and regional business teams in Canada and the U.S.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as a trusted business partner, providing timely and high-quality legal advice on corporate commercial and contract matters, mergers and acquisitions, financing activities, securities law, regulatory controls, and litigation management.
  2. Proactively identify and assess potential benefits and risks associated with business opportunities and operations, implementing processes and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Manage select external legal activities with service providers, oversee regulatory compliance, and provide support in other areas of legal department responsibility.
Requirements
  1. Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) and in good standing.
  2. Minimum 2 to 10 years of post-call corporate law experience, with strong technical legal, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  3. Ability to understand complex issues and find pragmatic solutions, exercising good business judgment.
  4. Experience with M&A transactions, debt financing, and Canadian or US public company reporting is an asset.
  5. Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
