Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Chetwynd General Hospital. As a LPN, you will work closely with the care team to provide compassionate patient care and extend your nursing knowledge.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing care to patients across the lifespan. You will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in emergency nursing, working with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to coordinate health services and provide patient-centered care.
  • Participate in discharge and care planning, and teach patients and their families about illness/injury and overall health promotion and wellness.
  • Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the patient/family, establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships based on respect.
  • Recognize and respond to unexpected patient outcomes, communicating and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year recent experience working in a related area of care.
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to caring for patients in the Emergency Department, including those across the lifespan with stable and predictable states of health.
