Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Loader Operator to join our team at Lafarge in Central Alberta. As a Loader Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining the operations of the pit on a day-to-day basis, reporting to the Plant Foreman. The successful candidate will have a strong background in operating a front-end wheel loader and will be able to work co-operatively with all personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain a front-end wheel loader, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Assist the plant operator with daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
  • Perform repair and maintenance on the plant under the direction of the Plant Foreman or Lead Hand.
  • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment.
  • Responsible for completing daily equipment checklists and monitoring accurate weights.
  • Monitor material production within specifications and ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product.
  • Work well with others, creating an atmosphere of teamwork and seeking out and implementing Best Practices.

Requirements

  • Safety-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a minimum of 2 years of experience operating a loader.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to read survey markings.
  • Able to lift 55 lbs and work unsupervised.
  • Good communication skills and able to work well with others.
