We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our team at The Engineering Institute of Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing assigned projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Effectively coordinate assigned projects through the municipal design approval process, ensuring timely completion and meeting client and municipal deadlines.
- Engineering Design: Direct involvement in the detailed engineering design process, providing guidance and technical support to junior staff as needed.
- Client and Stakeholder Management: Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and municipal staff, taking notes and recording outcomes for project record purposes.
- Project Management: Meet project milestone events, track progress, and obtain authorizations/approvals for changes in schedule/scope.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Resolve complex issues during both design and construction phases, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts and administer project finances, including budget tracking and invoicing.
- Mentorship and Evaluation: Provide mentorship and evaluation of junior staff, ensuring their growth and development within the organization.
- Minimum 4 years of local experience in design of land development or capital works projects.
- Registered as a P.Eng. within the province of work.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to work simultaneously on several different projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experienced and knowledgeable of technical design issues, constructability, cost, and design approvals.
- Experienced and knowledgeable of tender preparation with construction administration experience preferred.
