Job Summary:

Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a highly skilled Lighting Artist to join our team. As a Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing lighting for characters and environments in our productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement lighting for characters and environments that meet and enhance the given art direction.
  • Light multiple types of scenes from simple to moderately difficult.
  • Ensure that assigned shots fit the continuity of the sequence.
  • Develop solutions and techniques that meet art/technical direction.
  • Interact with supervisors/peers to exchange information relevant to the show or sequences.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Katana, Maya, Linux, UNIX and scripting ability in relevant languages.
  • Knowledge of Arnold shading, volume rendering and raytracing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant compositing software including Nuke is preferred.
  • Minimum requirement of 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $45.34 to $65.10/hr.
