POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on engine products within a service facility, operating under limited supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement established procedures and protocols to execute intricate repairs, including the identification and preparation of necessary components and tools.

- Disassemble, evaluate, clean, and reassemble engines and/or engine parts.

- Conduct preventative maintenance based on engine assessments.

- Collaborate with senior technicians in diagnosing issues and formulating repair strategies for engines in the service center.

- Complete essential documentation, such as work completion records, time logs, warranty submissions, and quality assurance documents, either through handwritten forms or digital input systems.

- Engage in training aligned with skill enhancement and business needs.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and tools.

- Comply with all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental regulations, reporting any concerns or incidents to a supervisor.

- Understanding Engine Systems: Analyze the interactions of various electrical and mechanical systems (such as exhaust, heating, cooling, fuel systems, etc.) using tools and service publications to accurately diagnose and repair issues.

- Repair and Maintenance of Products: Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical/electrical products following established guidelines, ensuring quality repairs within standard timeframes.

- Service Documentation: Accurately create and verify customer, equipment, and technical information; document all necessary data in the service management system to maintain a precise record of work performed.

- Technical Issue Escalation: Gather technical information regarding product issues and utilize available resources; escalate complex issues to higher expertise levels while documenting all troubleshooting steps for seamless transitions.

- Valuing Diversity: Acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Preferred: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician

- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution

- Valid local driving permit (Preferred)

- Intermediate level knowledge and/or experience with engine products is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Cummins Inc. seeks a qualified Red Seal Truck & Transport technician with experience in trailer repairs.

- The selected candidate will be expected to participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support key customers.

- Responsibilities include comprehensive repairs on trucks, trailers, and motorhomes, as well as servicing Onan products.
