At Wood\u0027s Homes, we are committed to building good mental health and well-being for everyone in our community. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth and Family Counsellor to join our Stepping Stone program in Fort McMurray.

Role Summary

The Youth and Family Counsellor will work closely with children, youth, and families to provide high-quality services and support. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and meeting the requirements of our Health and Safety Management System.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain a structured setting that fosters personal and social development for each client.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and training sessions to ensure best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Provide therapeutic support and case management for children, youth, and families, including attendance at case conferences and involvement in intervention strategies.
  • Maintain the upkeep of the living space and ensure compliance with licensing department requirements.
  • Assist with meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation of clients as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or Nursing, with a minimum of two to four years of related experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience working with young people is preferred.
  • Proof of professional registration may be required for certain diplomas or degrees.
  • A valid Class 5 driver\u0027s license and own transportation are required.
