Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform floor scrubbing and burnishing of floors using mechanized cleaning equipment
  • Clean assigned areas by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waxing floor surfaces
  • Collect and dispose of trash in garbage containers on a regular basis
  • Operate carpet machines of various types
  • Spot clean walls, ceilings, partitions, light switches, doors, and window sills
  • Wipe and sanitize all public utilities such as public phones, furniture, and door handles
  • Clean and sanitize washrooms, restock supplies as needed
  • Follow pre-set policies, guidelines, and rules to maintain a safe working environment

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous cleaning/janitorial experience an asset
  • Ability to lift 40lbs plus on a regular basis
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Reliable and legally allowed to work in Canada
  • Must live in the Ottawa/Gatineau region

Language Requirements:

Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and French
