Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an experienced Service Plumber to join our Service Division in Estevan, SK. If you are a hands-on, customer service-oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for a challenging role, this position is for you.

The Service Plumber will be responsible for performing planned maintenance activities on commercial plumbing and heating equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and executing small re-pipe, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on commercial plumbing and heating systems, including boilers, pumps, furnaces, hot water tanks, make-up air units, water filtration systems, and backflow devices.
  • Diagnose and repair complex plumbing and heating issues, utilizing industry-specific tools and technical literature.
  • Organize and execute small-scale plumbing and heating projects, including re-piping, retrofitting, and tenant improvements.
  • Document maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities, including service and repair recommendations, using a mobile service reporting application.
  • Compile accurate labor and material take-offs for work recommendations and materials ordering.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently, on time, and on budget.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members via phone, text, and email.
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 emergency on-call support.

  • Red Seal Plumbing Trade Qualification
  • B-Gas Certification
  • Cross Connection Control Certification
  • A-Gas Certification (considered an asset)
  • WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training (considered an asset)
Work Experience Requirements
  • Relevant Industry Experience (required)
  • Consideration may be given to those who do not possess all the above requirements if they are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, passion for the trade, and a desire to learn.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees, customers, and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and mobile device applications
