Position Overview

Auld Phillips Ltd is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in procurement and purchasing.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze market reports, trade publications, and promotional materials to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet organizational needs.
  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, credit terms, and logistics with suppliers.
  • Oversee the distribution of products to various outlets.
  • Assess the purchasing requirements of the organization and determine the necessary quantity and type of products to acquire.
  • Select and procure merchandise for resale.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of buyers, ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Attend trade shows, showrooms, and product design events to stay updated on market trends.
  • Conduct data analysis to support purchasing strategies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage a team of 3-4 buyers, providing guidance and support in their roles.

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in spreadsheet applications, including MS Excel and MS Outlook.
Industry Experience

Preferred experience in women's clothing and e-commerce sectors.

Specialized Skills
  • Expertise in buying, merchandise needs analysis, market analysis, product selection, negotiation, distribution, pricing, and product development.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be bondable and possess a valid passport.
  • Own transportation is required, and willingness to travel, including cross-border travel, is essential.
  • Travel expenses will be covered by the employer.
