About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Finisher to join our team at First Art Kitchens. As a Cabinet Finisher, you will be responsible for applying varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and studying plans and specifications to ensure accurate completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct apprentices in the art of cabinet finishing
  • Apply finishes to wood products, including varnish, veneer, stain, and polish
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols
  • Study plans and specifications to ensure accurate completion of tasks
  • Trim joints and fit parts together to form complete units
  • Repair or restyle wooden furniture and fixtures
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply finishes
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling capacity
  • Steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cabinet finishing or woodworking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized and efficient interpersonal skills
