Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals
  • Conduct thorough examinations to identify diseases and injuries
  • Develop and implement personalized health plans to promote wellness and prevent illnesses
  • Order diagnostic tests and procedures to determine the most effective treatment
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as needed
  • Perform routine surgeries and assist in more complex procedures
  • Provide prenatal and postnatal care, including delivering babies
  • Offer health advice and guidance to patients and their families
  • Report births, deaths, and contagious diseases to government authorities
  • Act as a patient advocate and coordinate primary care
  • Manage acute care and provide counseling and support on various health and lifestyle issues
Certifications and Licenses
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II)

  • Fast-paced environment with high pressure
