About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive nursing care to patients, consistent with their treatment and rehabilitation needs and goals.
- Assist in assessing patients' needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans in collaboration with the inter-disciplinary team.
- Provide nursing services as assigned, assist patients with daily living activities, and personal care.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis management and emergency nursing care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and practice of program policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and mental health best practices.
- Work in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies, and procedures of The Royal.
- Contribute to a work environment that is conducive to The Royal's Anti-Racism, Harassment, & Discrimination Free Workplace Policy.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Province of Ontario.
- Ability to perform full Registered Practical Nursing functions.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
- Satisfactory Police Records Check, for vulnerable sector.
- Valid drivers' license.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a professional multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.
