This is a dynamic opportunity to join RioCan's team as a Building Operator. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our retail-focused properties.
Key Responsibilities- Site Maintenance and Operations: Conduct daily property checks to ensure a clean and safe environment for tenants, customers, contractors, and employees.
- Tenant Service Requests: Respond to tenant service requests in a timely manner, maintaining positive relationships with tenants and contractors.
- Preventative Maintenance: Oversee preventative maintenance and repairs, including HVAC systems, fire life safety systems, and general maintenance issues.
- System Monitoring: Monitor mechanical equipment, including building automation systems, to ensure optimal performance.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate contractor access and ensure all deficiencies are rectified.
- Communication and Reporting: Communicate with manager on building inefficiencies and provide regular updates on site operations.
- Emergency Response: Provide on-call coverage and be available to work after-hours and weekends for any site emergency and/or unscheduled work.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of previous relevant work experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Certifications: 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certification is required.
- Skills: Ability to manage tight deadlines, work under pressure, and adapt to new processes and procedures.
- Knowledge: Sound knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, emergency systems, and fire and life safety.
- Personal Qualities: Mature and self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
