About the Role

The Asset Manager is a critical position at Newmont Mining, responsible for leading Mine Maintenance and Asset Maintenance operations. This role requires a strong focus on achieving operational goals in a safe and cost-efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Full Potential projects and Asset Management best practices to optimize mine performance.
  • Manage mine and plant automation, collaborating with the IT/OT team to ensure seamless integration.
  • Align maintenance strategy with production targets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Achieve consolidated EBITDA and free cash flow targets, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational durability.
  • Improve governance over capital expenditures, ensuring timely submission and quality of investment papers.
  • Ensure timely closure and delivery of closed projects, maintaining a robust risk management system.
  • Coordinate operational activities with the Site Leadership Team, promoting teamwork and continuous skill development among direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Social, and Environmental Responsibility (S&ER) standards, maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Manage on-site contractors to deliver safe and cost-effective services, overseeing reclamation activities and ensuring compliance with reclamation targets.
  • Communicate with Québec regulators on equipment certifications and mining regulations, promoting a culture of transparency and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mining or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 10–12 years of experience in an underground mining environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a management capacity.
  • Experience in mine maintenance roles, with a strong focus on asset management and maintenance strategy.
  • Prior experience managing and administering CAPEX and OPEX budgets for a multinational organization.
  • Operational experience as a Maintenance Manager, with a strong track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based at the Éléonore mine, a world-class, state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Quebec's mining region.
