Job Overview

We are in search of a Senior Financial Accountant tasked with the oversight of our financial statements, management reporting (MFR), and contributing to the annual internal and external auditing processes. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and auditing practices pertinent to the financial services sector in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Financial Statements: Guarantee the precise and timely creation of monthly financial statements in line with CIRO regulations.
  • Management Financial Reporting (MFR): Compile and scrutinize Management Financial Reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance, trends, and potential areas for enhancement.
  • Financial Analysis: Execute comprehensive financial analysis to pinpoint key performance indicators, variances, and optimization opportunities. Offer recommendations to senior management based on analytical findings.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in formulating annual budgets and forecasts. Track actual performance against budgeted targets and deliver variance analysis reports.
  • Internal Controls: Uphold and refine internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory reviews. Prepare essential schedules and documentation to facilitate audit processes.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the finance department to boost efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Strong familiarity with Canadian Accounting Standards, CIRO regulations, and auditing practices.
  • Experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Compensation: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
