Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to all food safety and handling procedures.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, ensuring that all customers receive a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Team Leadership: Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, ensuring that all stock is up-to-date and that orders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, and inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that all areas are clean and safe for customers and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
  • Work Setting: Fast food outlet or concession.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
