Job Title: Cashier (Part-Time)

About the Role:

We are seeking a part-time cashier to join our team at Giant Tiger in Truro. As a cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating electronic cash registers, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service at the checkout counters
  • Accurately process customer transactions using electronic cash registers and self-checkouts
  • Replenish merchandise around the checkout area to ensure a smooth shopping experience
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
  • Follow loss prevention best practices to prevent theft and ensure compliance with company policies

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Schedule:

A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings, and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for long periods, bending, twisting, and squatting, lifting up to 18 kg (40 lbs), and performing repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions.
