Position Overview:
The Elementary Religious Studies Teacher is a dynamic and passionate leader committed to promoting the vision, mission, and values of the Thunder Bay Muslim School Board through religious education. They embody the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, serving as exemplary role models for students and colleagues alike. The ideal candidate is diligent, enthusiastic, and well-organized, possessing excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities include leading and facilitating student activities, while fostering their physical, mental, emotional, and social growth. A focus on teamwork, camaraderie, and a commitment to excellence is essential in creating a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications We Seek:
- 1-2 years of experience in religious education.
- A genuine interest and capability to teach religious studies within a homeroom setting.
- Proficient recitation of the Quran and a solid understanding of Islamic teachings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching roles within Canadian Muslim educational institutions.
- B.Ed., OCT, and/or M.Ed., or the willingness to pursue these qualifications.
- Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and digital literacy.
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification, or equivalent from a recognized organization.
- Completion of a partial Aalim program or similar qualification from reputable Islamic scholars.
